Carriers have been moving older roofs to ACV and to percentage-based wind and hail deductibles at renewal for several years. It typically arrives as a paragraph in a renewal packet. The moment to discover it is now, on a calm day - not standing in your driveway with a tarp on the roof.

Wind off Lake Erie lifts shingle tabs, especially on the west and northwest faces. Damage often shows up as creased or missing tabs along a ridge line rather than as an obvious hole.
